You Are The Moon - The Hush Sound
Emerging from the gentle grip of night’s unfolding arms
Darkness, darkness everywhere, do you feel all alone?
The subtle grace of gravity, the heavy weight of stone
You don’t see what you possess, a beauty calm and clear
It floods the sky and blurs the darkness like a chandelier
All the light that you possess is skewed by lakes and seas
The shattered surface, so imperfect, is all that you believe
I will bring a mirror, so silver, so exact
So precise and so pristine, a perfect pane of glass
I will set the mirror up to face the blackened sky
You will see your beauty every moment that you rise
Cold War Transmissions- Anberlin
I’m getting really, really excited about their new album. I have never, and probably will never again experience a love for a band like I have felt for Anberlin. Those boys changed absolutely everything for me.
Barcelona- Numb
So I should probably lay off going to shows because the past 2 have made me cry. Well, for August Burns Red that’s an understatement. (I sobbed the whole time, but Jake remembered me and thanked me for it!) And tonight (Avalanche City and fun.) I couldn’t stop tearing up, and I think the randome guy with an excellent singing voice I talked to before/between sets was a little concerned.
Either way, tonight was great. fun. is always a blast to see live, and it was a great pickmeup for the week.
Hold On- Jet
Just Stay- Kevin Devine
All We Thought We Could- This Day & Age
This song has been on my mind a lot lately, and is just… indescribably beautiful when it’s played with the right timing of your emotions.
LAST NIGHT WAS PERFECTION.
August Burns Red performed flawlessly and with such passion. I cried during two songs (one because a surfer kicked my head directly into the barrier and it felt like I shattered my cheekbone which was a major overreaction as I just have a tiny barely visible bruise, the other because Jake kept pointing at me and making sure I knew it was me during both Cutting the Ties and Salt & Light, and I felt so happy and close to God.)
Every single member of the band performed so passionately and beautifully. I love seeing the friendships between them all as they make faces at each other, dance together, play together and rock out with each other on stage.
I don’t know if the show itself or after was cooler. I went in the Heart Support line and met Jake. He recognized me, thanked me for singing along to every song and talked to me all the way out the door even though there were dozens of people waiting to meet him. He was so nice, and is such a powerful and amazing influence in my life. I can definitely say I met a hero last night. As I walked out the door he said “I’ll see you at the next show?” and I said simply “Of course!”
Walnut Tree- Keane
A snow day/making art tradition. I love this song :D
